The Shorefront JCC was honored to be chosen as the first pilot site for the UJA and Met Council Virtual Food Pantry program in Brooklyn.
Our new and improved food pantry stronglhy reflects our highest values of dignity and privacy for our clients, empowering them to be able to choose and order their food items online through a point system. Clients are able to access the pantry from home, the physical pantry location if they so choose, or any other remote site.
This innovative technology is able to track inventory in real time, opens our pantry to be able carry a greater variety of products, and most importantly empowers our clients as they access this critical resource.
I came to the United States from the Soviet Union looking for a better life for my family. I had limited opportunities because of my lack of English and no financial resources. I came to SJCC and attended free ESL classes. I then was able to enroll in their job training program to become a Dental office receptionist. I am not employed and grateful to the support SJCC provided me.
